The Meditatio Journal Issue 2: Mental Health

The presentations in this journal represent the breadth, generosity, and practical usefulness of the contributions made at the Meditatio Seminar: Meditation and Mental Health held in London. They range from accounts of the most recent research linking meditation and wellbeing, to descriptions of the ways in which our mental health services need to be (and, in some cases, are being) reconfigured in the light of what we are continuing to discover about the role of meditation in supporting mental and physical health.

The essays show that practitioners of religion and mental health need not and should not be in conflict. Mutual understanding and cooperation of religious and mental professionals will help them to take into account the totality of their clients’ experience and support the clients more meaningfully.
