BEDE GRIFFITHS osb (1906-1993) was a Benedictine monk, born in England and educated at Christ’s Hospital and Oxford. After twenty years as a monk in England, he went to India in 1955. There he started Shantivanam, a Christian ashram where people of different traditions meet in an atmosphere of prayer. His many published books include Return to the Centre, A New Vision of Reality, The New Creation in Christ, The Marriage of East and West.
