ERNIE CHRISTIE has taught for 28 years and is deeply committed to the contemplative path. As Deputy Director of the Catholic and Education Office for the Diocese of Townsville Ernie has developed and implemented a systematic practice of Christian meditation in all Catholic schools in Townsville, Australia.

Ernie’s enthusiasm for the spiritual practice of Christian meditation and his belief that it has a vital role to play in our time is infectious. Starting with his own spiritual journey he convinces us that the Christian of the future needs to be more contemplative and the importance of learning to avoid narcissism, pragmatism and unbridled restlessness in our desire for growth. If this can be learnt at a young age through the practice of Christian meditation, then it is one of the most valuable lessons to carry young people through life.
